The UNC Center for Excellence in Community Mental Health
The Center serves individuals with serious mental illness at locations in Orange, Wake and Chatham counties. We provide care for individuals in the community 24/7 through our two highly regarded Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Teams in Orange and Wake Counties.

In FY 2018, the Center provided more than 36,000 visits, to approximately 1,700 individuals from 42 North Carolina counties. Additionally, the Center is recognized widely for its innovative recovery programs at the UNC Farm at Penny Lane and its technical assistance programs via its Institute of Best Practices.

The Center was created in 2009 with a grant from The Duke Endowment and is part of the Department of Psychiatry at the UNC School of Medicine.
