Our Mission Statement & Core Values

Our mission is something that we truly believe in. Our mission is to improve the independence and quality of life of all persons we serve by maximizing their opportunity for integration into their homes, considering their preferences, cultural backgrounds and other personal traits as well as advocating for their rights to receive the services that they actually need rather than acquiring those that they choose only from what has been made available.

The Alberta Difference is in the partnership we form with our clients and their families; the personal attention we give for those we serve, and the understanding that positive change comes from supportive relationships.

Our History & Background

Alberta Professional Services opened their doors in 1991, providing group homes for children. Over the years Alberta Professional Services expanded their services to include Innovation Services for I/DD clients, an adult day program, community advocacy and Therapeutic Foster Care.

Service areas: We are a statewide agency with locations in Greensboro, Asheville, Asheboro, Chapel Hill, and Wilmington

Our Current Projects & Mental Health Initiatives

Alberta Professional Services is pleased to announce that we are now providing therapy services! Clinical Therapy provides a wide range of therapeutic services aimed at relieving emotional stressors and various mental health problems while also building healthy coping skills. Therapy’s focus is to foster a relaxed environment in which clients can learn healthy coping skills to help manage stress symptoms coupled with talking through their mental health issues and traumas with trained licensed professionals.

Our goal as a Clinical team is to facilitate positive change in individuals searching for greater emotional and social functioning to improve their feelings of fulfillment and the overall quality of their lives while also empowering them to face their everyday challenges with hope and determination to succeed.

Clinical Therapy offers Psychotherapy, Play Therapy, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family/Couples Therapy, Comprehensive Clinical Assessments, Addendums, and Telehealth Services to give clients a wide range of different treatment options to meet the ever-growing needs of the community.

We work with children and adults ages 3 – 99 years of age in need of mental health services.
